Internet Research Strategies

For elementary students, using Google as a primary search engine usually results in frustration, too much information, and not age appropritate information.  Searching using Google or Yahoo or similar search engine is not recommended.

The following strategies are best for students.

Start with the
Greenbrook Library Card Catalog. Type your subject in the search box and choose keyword.  At the bottom of all the book resources in Greenbrook Library are Web Path Express sources.  These sources are reviewed and approved by educators and librarians and are coded by grade.

For futher information choose Kids Click, a database also reviewed and approved by educators.

If additional information is needed, try Yahoo! Kids Study Page.
